Terms of Service

Effective: 27 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and DYM LABS LLC, the operator of TasteBook (“TasteBook,” “we,” “us”). They govern your use of the TasteBook mobile apps and the website at tastebook.bio (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use TasteBook

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. By using TasteBook you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding contract with us.

2. Your account

You can start using TasteBook anonymously. To protect your data and sign in on other devices, you can secure your account with an email address; we will send you a one-time code to sign in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and device secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@tastebook.bio if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Your content

TasteBook lets you create folders and add restaurants, ratings, tiers, notes, reviews, photos, and profile details (“Your Content”). You keep all rights you have in Your Content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example, to show it back to you and to publish the folders you choose to make public on your profile.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights to share it and that it does not break the law or these Terms.

4. Public profiles

Folders are private by default. If you set a folder to Public or Link only, it is published to your profile at tastebook.bio/your-username and may be viewed by others and indexed by search engines while public. You can make a folder private again at any time, but copies that others saved or that search engines cached may persist for a while outside our control.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or obscene;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • upload malware, scrape the Service, or interfere with its operation or security;
  • use the Service to send spam or to collect others’ data without permission;
  • reverse-engineer the Service except to the extent the law expressly allows; or
  • use the Service in any way that breaks applicable laws or these Terms.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe break these rules.

6. Subscriptions and payments

TasteBook is free to use, with an optional paid subscription (“Pro”) that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to those stores’ terms.

  • Billing & renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing & cancelling. You manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
  • Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed by their policies. Where the law (including EU/UK consumer law) gives you a right to a refund or withdrawal, that right still applies.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription prices; changes apply to future billing periods and we will give notice where required.

7. Third-party data and services

Restaurant names, addresses, ratings, photos, and map tiles shown in Discovery come from third-party sources such as Google. That information is provided “as is,” may be inaccurate or out of date, and is subject to the providers’ own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content or services.

8. Intellectual property

The Service itself — including its name, logo, design, and software — belongs to TasteBook and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not give you any right to our branding or software except the limited right to use the Service as intended.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any restaurant information is accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you, including mandatory consumer-protection rights.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TasteBook will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or to comply with the law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licences you granted for already-published content, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

12. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of TasteBook after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DYM LABS LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or another region with mandatory local protections, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer rights and the right to bring claims in your local courts.
